Thanks for your responses! The Drs. Made a decision to operate on my husband again today. They are doing exploratory surgery to see why he keeps having blockages and will also open the ileostomy a little wider! Prayers are welcome and we are hoping they find the problem so he

Markers can go up and down a bit but the overall trend tells the story. Hopefully when its rechecked the positive response you were seeing will continue. When do they check again?

Charles, the six month scan was clean! I also had my "one year after resection surgery" colonoscopy this month and it too was clean! I know the prayers of many have helped me and God is Good!

@willnotgiveup - my husband is not in treatment right now. He did not quite make it through the FOLFOX6 treatments in 2010 - he had a bad reaction to the Avastin and made the decision to discontinue treatment. His body had just been through too much at that point. He

Chemo can cause damage to blood vessels. I've said before that chemo kills rapidly growing cells. Those cells are cancer cells and cells that constantly get used. From the mouth to the rectum cells slough off and are rapidly replaced. IV chemo can damage blood vessels, blood can get

My father was diagnosed with stage 3a colon cancer in 2006. He underwent bowel resection and 6 chemo sessions. Oncologist recommended 26 sessions but my father did not tolerate chemo well. My father decided to stop chemo treatment. The family was uncomfortable with this decision so too was his oncologist.

After 4 rounds of chemo (FOLFOX plus Avastin) my side effects were so horrible (swollen tongue and throat with difficulty breathing or swallowing, extreme neuropathy etc.) that my Oncologist changed one of the drugs. He took away Oxaliplatin and now added Irinotecan for my 5th round. What a relief it [...]
